On March 18, DAYS will air a special episode where Marlena — who has flatlined — is caught between heaven and hell. Head Writer Ron Carlivati says a past Llanview tale came into play when crafting the hour. “Diana really wants Marlena out of the way, so she goes into her room and pulls the plug on her,” says the scribe. “It reminded me of way back in the day on ONE LIFE TO LIVE when Viki was in the hospital and Maria Roberts pulled the plug on her because she wanted Clint, and Viki ended up traveling to heaven.
