FAREWELL TO HELLO! STAR MUM LISA WELLS WHO HAS TRAGICALLY LOST HER FIGHT WITH CANCER

Lisa Wells, winner of HELLO!’s 2018 Star Mum Award, tragically passed away on Saturday 17 August after a two-year fight with cancer, aged just 33.

Lisa’s husband Dan broke the sad news to her army of followers on Instagram, writing: “She’s now at peace, no more pain, no more suffering. Sleep tight you absolute warrior, you won the hearts of many. Love you always and forever. Dan.”

The mother of two won our award last year after judges including BBC newsreader Kate Silverton and HELLO! editor in chief Rosie Nixon was moved by her bravery and fundraising efforts in the face of being diagnosed with stage 4 bowel and liver cancer in October 2017.

Despite her illness, she fulfilled her dream of writing a book called Only One of Me in August 2018. She also helped form the formidable Lisa’s Army, a gang of friends of the family committed to raising funds for her children, Ava-Lily, six, and one-year-old Saffia, and for Dorothy House in the West Country, the hospice that cared for her.
