The timing couldn’t have been better. Or maybe it couldn’t have been worse. Last September, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s split hit the news. Stunned fans and showbiz watchers desperate to find a reason for the perfect couple’s divorce began pointing fingers at Marion, Brad’s co-star in Allied, the movie out this week in which the American actor and the French actress play World War II spies, Max Vatan and Marianne Beauséjour. In the film, the pair pretend to be husband and wife during a deadly mission in Casablanca, and of course, eventually fall in love for real. But is Marianne who Max thinks she is? It’s an old fashioned romance set against an espionage thriller backdrop. And if you think the premise kinda reminds you of another Brad Pitt movie, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, well, you wouldn’t be the only one. During the shooting of that film, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie apparently fell for each other, leading to Brad’s divorce from Jennifer Aniston. Is history repeating itself? Did Brad and Marion’s reel-life chemistry spill over into real life? Marion, who has a five-year-old son and is currently expecting another child with French actor and director Guillaume Canet, took to Instagram to deny her involvement in the Brangelina split, saying that she met the love of her life many years ago, and that he is the father of her son and the baby she is expecting, and the only one that she needs.
