TAKE FLIGHT

Opened early this October, the Grand Hyatt at San Francisco International Airport is the latest addition to the ring of hotels that circumscribe the airport and the only hotel establishment located on the airport grounds.

Sited on 4.2 acres, the US$237 million property comprises 351 rooms, including 22 suites, that cater to corporate business travelers and leisure guests. The project is part of Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s U.S. West Coast expansion plan, which will see the addition of 40 new hotels in the states of California, Oregon and Washington by the end of 2021.

The hotel’s design was conceptualized by San Francisco–based architect Hornberger + Worstell and associate ED21, with the interior design firms BraytonHughes Design Studios and RoseBernard Studio. The Grand Hyatt is connected to San Francisco International Airport’s four terminals via a dedicated station on the AirTrain automated people mover system, and the station features a breathtaking stained-glass art installation.
