Subhashis Basu, director, marketing, Hilti India, on how customers can achieve total peace of mind when they buy the company’s power tools
-
Hilti is known for its leading-edge technology, software and services that powers the construction industry. Please throw some light on your set-up in India.
Hilti has been synonymous with innovation since its beginning. Our actions aim at building a better future. Every day at our R&D centres in Europe, North America and Asia, Hilti engineers and experts tinker, test and imagine new ways to make our customers work easier, safer and more productive.
In India, we are a team of 800-plus employees and work directly with civil engineering consultants, architects, clients, contractors across building construction, civil infrastructure and energy and provide direct consultation and the best of Hilti solutions.
We also have a manufacturing plant, Hilti Manufacturing India (HMIPL) in India, which employs over 500 team members, and have an in-house R&D, and testing team. It produces diamond cutting products like cutting discs and blades, cup-wheels, and core-bits for the global and Indian markets. HMIPL is ISO certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
You would be surprised to know that despite the decline in sales globally due to the pandemic, Hilti Group continued to invest in strategic priorities and research & development. In 2020, we started operations at our new facility, Hilti Technology Solution India (HTSI) in Pune, to provide global and scalable software development capabilities for the Hilti Group.
Hilti has a unique direct selling and servicing model as compared to all other power tools players in India. How does it work?
