The Parisian fashion powerhouse Dior collaborates with international female artists to reinterpret the allure of its iconic Lady Dior bag. There’s one for every bride and every personality.

The concept of fashion as an art form and vice versa remains an ongoing conversation. A perfect marriage of communication, utility, and creativity—fashion can be described as the most evocative form of art. Just like any performative art is fulfilled when consumed by viewers, the work of a fashion designer often becomes performative when one collaborates with a community of artists and innovators to complete their work. In keeping with that thought, Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri launched the third installation of her passion project, the Lady Art #3, at Art Basel in Miami. “Why have there been no great women artists?”, asked the slogan T-shirt that opened Chiuri’s Spring 2018 show for Dior. She answers the same by commissioning 11 female artists, namely, Olga De Amaral (Colombia), Polly Apfelbaum (the US), Burçak Bingöl (Turkey), Lee Bul (Korea), Isabelle Cornaro (France), and others to create their own renditions and put a fine art spin on the iconic Lady Dior bag.
