Jane Cumberlidge escapes to Jersey’s south-west coast to anchor off one of the Channel Islands’ prettiest beaches

Located on the west edge of St Brelade’s Bay and just a few miles east of La Corbière lighthouse is Beauport, a delightful cove for a lunchtime stop. The approach to this anchorage on the south-west coast of Jersey is straightforward and it’s perfectly sheltered with any north in the wind. To the south you will see a steady stream of traffic heading to and from St Helier including yachts, fishing boats, coasters, the Ro-Ro ferry and the Condor fast ferries, which can send a rolling wash into the bay.
