Not content with the success of the Activa, Honda wants to grab an even bigger share of the two-wheeler market with its latest 110cc scooter – the immensely affordable CLIQ.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has managed to pull off another coup by launching India’s most affordable 110cc scooter, the CLIQ, priced at ₹42,499, ex showroom Delhi. With the aim to dominate both the price-sensitive rural and semi urban areas, Honda has taken the market by storm in the entry-level two-wheeler segment. So, basically, one can now buy a scooter at the price of a 100cc motorcycle.

Honda decided to break from tradition by not holding the CLIQ media test ride at a metropolitan city – instead they took us to Jaipur to experience their real market, the tier-two city. Initially I was intrigued – why Rajasthan, I thought. But once we were out on the road with this new scooter, we met many potential customers asking about the price, fuel efficiency, and how soon could they book one? That’s when I realised the sheer impact that the CLIQ could make.
