A Ride Into Russia

Leaving Kalingrad, we headed out into the country for the Baltisk Peninsula

Kalingrad is not a cheap place to visit, many people are cash-rich judging from the many chic shops and SUV’s, designer clothing worn by young people. The city is flourishing. new apartments are being built and young families flock the pavements. When visiting the market hall, we saw no shortage of any food due to the ongoing embargo of the EU.

On Day 3 we fired the Syncro up and headed for the white sand cliffs near Svetlogorsk, in the northwestern tip of the country. We hoped to find a nice beach to pitch up for another 1 or 2 nights and our fridge was refilled with provisions from a local supermarket, so we came prepared. We cornered into a few small lanes heading towards the sea, but they were either fenced off as private property, dead ends not leading to the shores. Spirits were sinking for the sunset along the beach – but then we spotted a sign with a drawing of kids in bathing suits, pointing into a cobblestone bumpy farm road.
