THE DOMINGUE ’57 CHEVY DELRAY

As time goes on, the fabled “father and son” hot rod projects are starting to become more and more of a fable than anything else—and whether that’s due to a lack of interest on the younger generation’s behalf or something else altogether, only time will tell. For now, we’ll continue embracing the familial bond as such … like this one courtesy of Micheal and Dillon Domingue.

Micheal, a craftsman by trade, grew up working on cars by necessity; his oldest son, Dillon, followed in his father’s footsteps and began tinkering with vehicles at an early age. After attending a Cruising the Coast event together for the first time, the two were eager to acquire a project of their own.

Though united in their goals, the father-son duo were separated in taste, opinion, and geography. Micheal traveled for work around the nation while Dillon lived and worked in Southern Louisiana. The first obstacle was finding a car; Dillon wanted a ’60 Impala and Micheal wanted a ’57 Chevy. They would end up agreeing on the latter Tri-Five, and the search began.
