Unibody cars are an interesting piece of engineering. As most of you know, rather than attaching the various body components to a separate rigid frame, the individual body parts are welded together in such a way as to form a solid integrated structure that saves weight and still provides the needed strength. Even the “framerails” in a unibody are not really frames in the conventional sense, but simply heavier-gauge body parts used to reinforce high-stress areas.
