New Sedan On The Block

Auto Today

June 2019

We compare the new Honda Civic against its age old rival the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Skoda Octavia. So which is the best petrol automatic sedan to have?

New Sedan On The Block

The Civic was nothing short of being a revolution when it was launched back in the day. The design and features were way ahead of what was being offered at that time. No wonder then that the eighth generation Civic even today has a massive fan following in the enthusiast circle. The 10th generation Civic then has a lot to live up to. The competition has being hotting up as well and now comes in form of the new Skoda Octavia L&K and the recently rejuvenated Toyota Corolla Altis. So can the Civic be better than these two out here. Time to find out!

EXTERIOR

The new Honda Civic is every bit ravishing to look at. It comes with the same arrow like design where the sleek pair of headlamps and grille plays a vital role in makes the sedan look sporty. The lights are all LED units and offer a fantastic beam. The LED day time lights and fog lights coupled with a decent serving of chrome offers a visual which makes the Civic look very desirable. In profile the sporty outlook continues with a sweeping roof line and a coupe like design. The stout boot design also adds to the appeal of the Civic. The rear section is dominated by the large LED tail lights and the spoiler perched on the boot lid.

The Skoda on the other hand offers a more European flair. The front end of the Octavia looks matured and the LED day time lights give the Octy a very unique look. The large signature grille makes the Octy look unmistakably like a Skoda. The profile is dominated by a single shoulder line and it looks very smooth and polished. The rear end too continues with the matured them and overall the Skoda looks handsome as an executive sedan.
