Indian customers are floored by the range of materials, as there are options to suit almost every function or budget.

Floors and More

When we walk in to the entrance lobby of an illustrious commercial building, what is the first thing that catches our eye? Inevitably, its the ground beneath our feet, than the rest of the expanse before us. Commercial buildings seem to understand the vitality of that first impression and hence have come a long way from the plain staid floors. With an aim to provide visitors with boundless experience within their premises, commercial buildings, indulge in every aspect of their spatial design.

Often known as the fifth wall, floorings are given substantial attention and detailing. From the lavish patterns that adorn the lobbies to the cosy wooden flooring, the element of strategising and design has become very essential.

“Today, the notable trends in commercial floor design revolve around large formats, organic textures and looks that combine rusticity and refinement,” believes Ashok Goyal, CEO, Nitco India. “Manufacturers have perfected the grain patterns for tiles that look like wood. These are now gaining popularity as the tile of choice for commercial spaces. Other tile products trending in the market are treatments with carpet surfaces, fine-tuned floors comprising of framed tiles or tiles aligned in book-page fashion that create a unique pattern.”
