Crosby the Blind Cat

My name is Crosby. I was born blind in a litter of barn cats in 2011 near Webster, KY. My first humans (friends of my mom-to-be) realized I was blind early on, so they took me into their home.

Since my eyes are not cloudy, many people who meet me do not realize I am blind! My future mom saw several Facebook posts about me being an adorable black-and-white tuxedo kitten, and she became enamored with me, finally deciding to take me home.

The day my new mom got me, she attended a program, at the Louisville School for the Blind, about the blind hymn writer, Fanny Crosby. My name, “Crosby” was suggested by a friend who had accompanied her to the program. Since my new mom is a musician, it was the perfect name for me! She also calls me “C Bear.”
