The idea’s exactly the same as in 2017 – try to see 200 species of bird during the course of the year. The rest is entirely up to you – you can decide whether to count only birds seen in the UK, or those you see on birding trips (or family holidays) abroad, too.

You can restrict yourself to a local patch or your home county, or set your sights further afield. Whatever you decide, though, we’ll be there to help you along.
