At several points in every surfer’s and standup paddler’s life comes that moment when it’s sunny, your friends are going to the beach, and the forecast is perfect—and your to-do list has to shrink instantly. I slapped the laptop lid closed with a snap, pushing myself away from my desk like a sniper going for the kill… except that all that I was assassinating today was a spreadsheet.
