Hi. It’s me. Jean. Not that Jean. The second one.
Ugh, you’re gonna make me say this.
Fine. It’s “Jean 2”. So, the last time you heard from me was when I was about to head for my date… except, my date kidnaped me and kept me in the storeroom of his flat.
(So, if you haven’t heard, it was Ian. The last dude who used to work for the publishing house that produces Esquire Singapore.)
Normally, I’d scream bloody murder or struggle against the restraints but Ian kept me sedated. I do remember him just telling me that it’s for my own good as he was returning to the office to “make sure that they will answer for it.”
After he left, I managed to stay lucid enough to loosen my bonds and called the cops on him.
They managed to arrest him, just as he was about to hurt Greg, who, by-the-way, quit after the ordeal. He said that he couldn’t take the stress.
So, now that Greg is gone, guess who is tasked to upload this month’s Magzter? You guessed it.
The August issue has Kelvin Harrison Jr on the cover and he talks about his acting career and why he does it. It is also a special month where we have an SG60 feature of our local creative mavericks like Adrian Pang, Sam Lo and Aik Beng Chia (just to name a few) who are pushing the boundaries of their craft. Elliot Tan covers the Singaporean watchmakers… oh, and there’s an ESQnA with Pearl Lee, who moved to Paris and founded The Hood.
Anyhoo, the police are still at the office trying to figure out why Ian returned. I mean, if you killed someone, you’d think that you’d run as far as possible. Instead, Ian came back. I heard he was looking for something. Someone said that he might be looking for evidence to prove his innocence. It all sounds… complicated. Like this is all some convoluted plot conjured up by some closeted TV writer.
Huh, there’s a folder on this work station with my name on it. Come to think of it, Ian was in this room last. Did he write this?
