Making mobile mapping systems affordable

While the sensors used in a Mobile Mapping System (MMS) are available at relatively low cost, the major reason behind the high cost of MMS is the intellectual property (IP). Developing the IP indigenously would tremendously bring down the cost of MMS. Researchers at Geoinformatics Laboratory, IIT Kanpur have achieved this feat and have developed their own ground based mobile mapping system
