In our May issue we examine the myriad overprints produced by Guyana in the 1980s and early 1990s. They are certainly not easy to make sense of, but it is clear that they were postally used as everyday stamps. We also consider the many attractions of the postal history of the Outer Hebrides, where a collecting area can be clearly defined, communication with the mainland is essential and postmarks have been well researched. A new monthly feature on Britain’s commemoratives from the early years of the reign starts at the very beginning, with the lovely Coronation issue of 1953. Amongst our other regular features, Commonwealth Classics focuses on the first dedicated issue for Montserrat, with its obvious Irish influence, while Victoriana examines a cover posted using a Queen Victoria stamp as late as 1926!
