In the November issue we mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution by investigating the stamps and postal history of the country before, during and after the upheaval, and how they reflected the huge political and social changes that were underway. We also study the archival documents and trial printings which paved the way for the Dutch printer Enschedé to print Great Britain’s definitives in the early 1990s, and examine the pneumatic post of Paris and the postal stationery which it produced in the late 19th century. A new series showcasing the work of the greatest ever stamp engravers starts (where else?) with Charles and Frederick Heath in 1840, while out regular Commonwealth Classics feature looks at the first definitive issue of Uganda in 1898.
