Apply frankincense
Precious enough to be carried by the Three Wise Men, this resin from the Boswellia tree contains a compound called boswellic acid that inhibits the release of inflammatory compounds, Polish scientists say. And a study in BMC Research Notes found applying frankincense oil to joints daily reduced pain within four weeks. To use, add 10 drops of frankincense essential oil to 1 Tbs. of olive oil and massage into sore joints.
