Skiing slopes into love

Carol rekindles more than just her love of snow sports on a weekend away at a ski resort when she runs into an old flame

Wow, I can't believe we're here," Carol said, opening the car door. "It's been at least 15 years since I've hit the slopes." "The last time you came to this lodge was when we were on our senior ski trip," Sarah stated. "And if I recall, you had a huge crush on the ski instructor."

"I remember him... Tommy. He was so handsome, and man, could he ski." "Let's check in. It's still early enough that we can get a few runs in before supper."

"I can't do anything until I get my skis waxed. They've been stored away and need a little love and care given to them before they go anywhere near the snow."

"I'll check in while you go to the pro shop."

"Leave my stuff in the car and I'll get it later," Carol said, grabbing her skis from the roof rack. "I hope they can fit me in." Carol entered the shop.

It was much bigger than she remembered and a lot busier. She headed to the back where the repair shop was located.

There was no one at the counter when she approached. She set her skis down and waited for someone to show up. While she waited, she eyed the people. Carol had always been a people watcher and could start up a conversation with just about anyone.

"Hi! May I help you?" someone asked.
