Renting a film to watch with friends or family used to be a weekend ritual – but you had to get in early if it was popular!
Hunkering down with a classic film is a great way to get into the Christmas mood. But families hoping to watch old classics like White Christmas or Frosty the Snowman (just like we did in the 1970s) will have to hope they are on TV because they're less likely to pop up on modern streaming services.
Back in the 1980s, you could pop into your local video rental store and pick from thousands of films to watch with friends or family. Stock ranged from old classics to modern blockbusters, homegrown to world cinema.
