Interrailing is not just for students, and offers the freedom to criss-cross Europe at a bargain price. Michelle Hather reports
While Interrailing has been a rite of passage for many young people, adults can enjoy the same fancy-free experience, hopping on trains. Last year, the lure of borderless travel (with a reduced carbon footprint to boot), tempted me and my husband, both newly retired, to purchase an Interrail Global Pass. This gave us 15 travel days to use within two months. By the end of our adventure, we had travelled more than 7,000km, through 12 countries.
