The power of words in shaping young lives.

The Rippling Effect

Positive words and affirmations are directly proportional to good mental health. It is one of the most important motivators for a child to excel in any task or achieve success in her endeavours. Negative words, on the other hand, exude negative energy and demotivate/ demoralise the child, harming her mental health and diverting her attention away from the assigned tasks.

The cacophony of voices screaming negative words has the ability to paralyse the child and cause her to abandon her pursuits. Positive affirmations, on the other hand, and the voices that speak them, can help a child face her most terrifying and unknown fears when she is deep in the woods. What we say or utter in front of children becomes their narrative.

Underlining the theme of Affirmations

I recently discovered two books that inspired the theme of this piece. While one beautifully demonstrates the power of affirmation, the other provides profound advice on how negative words paralysed the story's protagonist, toppling her confidence like a house of cards and limiting her ability to believe in herself, but in the end, there were positive affirmations that threw an outstretched hand to pull herself out of the heap of mess.
