Emily and her family hit the camel trail this winter

While most kids grow up with cats or dogs as pets, Emily Parrott grew up with camels.

“Dad bought 20 camels when I was four years old to start doing camel rides along Stockton Beach, so I've grown up with them my whole life,” the 33-year-old from Newcastle tells Woman's Day.

“It was always really normal to me until I started school and people kept asking me, ‘Do you really have camels?”

GREAT COMMUNITY

Now, six days a week, Emily helps her dad Rodney take care of their 100-strong flock of camels. With husband Luke part of their business, they take tourists for camel adventures along Stockton Beach.
