A new documentary follows doctors and nurses who respond to

State of EMERGENCY

One minute everything can be going to plan, then suddenly it all changes in an instant. Every hour, a major trauma occurs across the capital, whether that's an accident, a road collision or violent attack, and the London Major Trauma System is ready to respond.

A new fly-on-the-wall documentary, Critical: Between Life and Death, which is available this week on Netflix, follows the dedicated trauma teams who hold our lives in their hands when the worst happens. With 40 cameras embedded for 21 days across the entire London Major Trauma System, it taps into the popularity of TV shows like 24 Hours in A&E, offering insight into what happens behind the scenes at some of the city's top hospitals. And with an overview of every single 999 call made across the capital, it really is a race against time for consultants to make lifesaving decisions.

We speak to one woman who is forever grateful for the treatment her family received when a normal day turned into their worst nightmare.
