GROWING UP in Katonah, New York, Stanley Tucci may have been an ocean away from his parents’ homeland in Calabria, but he always felt innately connected to his roots—even down to his school lunches. His mother, Joan, often packed Italian sandwiches made out of leftovers, be it eggplant parmigiano or meatballs.
