With a packed calendar of athletic events, Miami is staking its claim as one of the country’s most exciting sports hubs.

KNOWN FOR its nightlife and beaches, Miami is now stepping into the international sports spotlight, fueled by a year-round calendar of marquee events. The biggest draw is this year’s FIFA World Cup; Hard Rock Stadium will host seven matches. (For more on the World Cup, turn to page 55.)
The April opening of Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park—a 25,000-seat stadium and home of Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami CF, co-owned by David Beckham—reinforces the city’s fútbol cred. The development features the city’s largest green space and over a million square feet of retail, dining, entertainment, offices, and hotel rooms.
