It is a popular cruising destination, but Milford Sound is not only about the destination, but also the journey that take visitors through lush green forests towards a floating dream.

After getting married in November 2024, my husband and I ditched the typical honeymoon destinations, for an adventure in New Zealand. While our friends had jetted to Paris and Switzerland, we wanted to visit a different place and opted for a destination that is not the first on the mind of an Indian traveller.

Sure enough, as soon as we landed at Auckland Airport, we knew we were in for something special. Ten days later as we returned home we realised that what we had experienced in New Zealand was nothing less than a visit to the paradise.

Being first time visitors, while our trip was packed with some must-see sights, but for me, New Zealand was more than just about ticking off some famous landmarks. It was about immersing myself in the breathtaking landscapes that kept on unfolding throughout the journey.

If I had to pick a highlight of the trip to the Kiwi land, it would be Milford Sound Cruise. Trust me, taking the cruise was the best decision that we had made on the trip! Imagine gliding through the fjord, surrounded by cascading waterfalls, towering cliffs and an incredible wildlife. It is an experience that has been etched forever in my memory.

From Queenstown to an adventurous Cruise

Before setting foot in New Zealand, I had heard a lot about Milford Sound and now after having experienced it firsthand, I can confirm the hype is not just hype, but it is real. The true essence of this journey lay not only in the destination but also in the beautiful voyage that took us there.
