NO STANDARD IPHONE 18 EXPECTED THIS YEAR AS APPLE REVIEWS RELEASE TIMING

Apple is not expected to introduce a standard iPhone 18 during the current product cycle, according to multiple reports pointing to a change in how the company stages its flagship smartphone launches.

The shift would mark a departure from Apple's long-established practice of releasing its core iPhone models together each fall.

Under the reported plans, the iPhone 17 lineup introduced in 2025 would remain Apple's latest standard iPhone offering through 2026. The next non-Pro model, referred to as the iPhone 18, is instead expected to arrive in the spring of 2027. If that schedule holds, it would be the first time Apple goes an entire calendar year without updating the standard version of its flagship phone.

A BREAK FROM THE ANNUAL FALL CYCLE

For more than a decade, Apple has launched its main iPhone generations in September, with standard and Pro models debuting simultaneously. Reports now suggest that the company is preparing to divide future releases into two separate windows, focusing fall launches on higher-end devices while pushing entry-level or standard models to a later date.
