What's the story?

The P8K is a new model that sits in the middle of the TCL lineup; it's the most affordable television in this test and there's every chance it will get even cheaper, so it's a true bargain.

The overall build is good (although you'll need a large base for its widely spaced feet), with a raised Onkyo subwoofer round the back. There's also a 'Premium QLED' tag on the right side of the screen; this doesn't block visible pixels, but it is a bit intrusive.

The P8K runs Google TV and some of the remote's functions reflect that, with a shortcut button for the OS's settings. There's also a similar button that opens settings for stuff like picture control and sound... and you might well occasionally press the wrong one.
