Apple iPhone Air

Apple has often been accused of belatedly copying Android's homework... and that's unlikely to change with the arrival of the iPhone Air. Months after the unveiling of Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge – a sliver at just 5.8mm – Apple has eclipsed it with an outrageously skinny phone of its own.

The iPhone Air measures just 5.64mm at its slimmest point, yet its IP68-rated titanium frame still houses the same top-end A19 Pro chip that you get in the much beefier iPhone 17 Pro, which Apple reckons offers MacBook performance. That thinness is interrupted briefly by the camera bump, which is home to a single 48MP snapper that offers 2x zoom and 4K video.

The 6.5in Super Retina XDR always-on screen is a touch bigger than the Pro’s and it's covered with Ceramic Shield 2, so despite looking like a stiff breeze would snap it in half this phone is actually tougher than it looks – a bit like eating a doughnut without licking your lips. Not that you'd catch the iPhone Air scoffing those, mind. It's got a record-breaking waistline to maintain.
