|January 2026
This supercharged version of the already brilliant ProArt P16 delivers for speed, less so for value

I ended my in-depth review of this year's ProArt P16 (see issue 371, p60) with the words “if the RTX 5070 is powerful enough to meet your needs, the new ProArt P16 is our top choice as a mobile workstation”. Perhaps that caveat stung, because here we are five months later with a new, top-end version with an RTX 5090 GPU to accompany the 64GB of DDR5 RAM and power-oozing AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor.
The end result is a phenomenally powerful laptop. If you use 3ds Max or SolidWorks, the GPU will have an immediate impact on productivity: this update returned 208 and 372 in those viewsets in SPECviewperf 2020, compared to 116 and 277 before - and those were already strong scores. I also saw a healthy uplift in Creo and Catia, with results of 119 and 101 compared to 104 and 74 previously.
