Acer Aspire Vero 16 (2025)

Eco-friendly materials help, but it's the likely longevity of the chassis and components that earn the Vero an award

We're fans of anything that reduces waste, and that's the promise of the Acer's Vero range. Acer's marketing focuses on its use of post-consumer recycled plastics, but I would instead focus on its longevity, as I think this laptop could last for ten years.

For instance, it will be many years before Intel's Core Ultra 7 255H processor seems slow. This includes 16 cores, six of which are fast P-cores that will devour any task: you can see this in its 15,282 result in Geekbench 6's multicore section. Intel's integrated Arc 140T graphics are no slouch either, and thanks to a highly effective fan cooling system - not that you will often hear it called into action outside of games - the Aspire Vero returned strong averages of 39fps in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, 28fps in Dirt 5 and 77fps in Civilization VII.
