What are the current macroeconomic and microeconomic trends shaping the business environment?

India is witnessing unprecedented economic growth, with GDP projected to rise between 6.3 percent and 6.8 percent for the fiscal year 2025-26. This momentum is fuelled by strong public investment and resilient private consumption. The government's substantial investments in infrastructure—spanning roads, railways, ports, mining, green power, and logistics—are creating significant opportunities for businesses. Additionally, the private sector is experiencing a surge in data centres, driven by the government's data localisation policy. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) report 2024, India's installed power capacity is expected to grow from the current 450 GW to 1,600 GW by 2050. Caterpillar is actively supporting this transformation, providing innovative solutions such as earthmoving equipment, gensets, and engines to customers across these critical sectors.
