FACEBOOK IS BUILDING AN AI DATING ASSISTANT TO HELP USERS FIND MATCHES

Meta is preparing to introduce an AI-powered dating assistant for Facebook, a move that could reshape how people use the platform to meet potential partners.

The assistant, which is still in testing, will be able to generate personalized messages, suggest conversation starters, and even analyze compatibility between users based on their profiles and past interactions.

HOW IT WILL WORK

According to people familiar with the project, the Al assistant will integrate directly into Facebook Dating, the company’s matchmaking feature launched in 2019. Users will be able to opt in, giving the assistant access to their preferences and interests. The tool can then help craft introductions, recommend profiles that align with stated values, and suggest questions or topics to break the ice.

Meta says the assistant is designed to reduce friction in early conversations, which often stall after just a few messages. “A lot of matches never turn into actual chats,” one insider said. “The assistant is meant to keep conversations flowing, not replace them.”
