Goals at the start of each half ensured promotion hopefuls FC Halifax Town extended their impressive away form in only their second game of 2025.
Andrew Oluwabori opened the scoring inside four minutes before Owen Bray added a second after the break to ruin Matt Taylor's first game in charge at Solihull.
The Shaymen remain unbeaten on the road since late October but boss Chris Millington was still far from pleased.
"I thought the performance was poor, I was disappointed with aspects of the performance," the Halifax boss said.
"The fact we did get the result showed a professionalism and a maturity maybe we wouldn't have had earlier in the season, so I am pleased with the progress.
"Our defending was of a standard you would expect but we didn't control possession for any period like we should have done.
