Better distance control on the greens

Setting up from left to right as in the photos above evens up the balance of pressure between your left and right hand on the club, so one doesn't outweigh the other.

This should help you position the grip so the shaft runs through the lifeline of your lead hand. It also levels the shoulders a little and stops the elbows sticking out. Note how my elbows point down at my hip joints. Getting the club more in the palms will quieten the wrists, which helps with control. You can do this before taking your grip - it will just become natural.
