Li Haotong's win at the Qatar Masters last month makes him one to watch at the Porsche Singapore Classic. He recounts what the victory meant to him, and how he's set up to compete at Laguna National Golf Resort Club this month.

WHAT DOES YOUR RECENT WIN IN QATAR MEAN TO YOU?

It means a lot because I've always wanted to try to reach (DP World Tour title) Number 4, especially after (Wu) Ashun did that before. It's quite a big achievement for me and it just shows how strong my game is recently. So far this year and at the end of last year I've been playing really well but I just haven't closed out nicely, so Qatar was just the week for me.

HOW DIFFICULT, INSPIRING OR CHALLENGING HAS YOUR JOURNEY BEEN GROWING UP IN CHINA?

I learned the game from my father, and we actually have a great junior programme which has helped. We competed a lot - pretty much every month when I was young. I turned pro super young, at age 16, so that journey is definitely not easy. But luckily, I made it through.
