WWII aircraft-inspired bike that still flies high in collectors' eyes
"A responsive machine with a new frame design" was how Cycling's reviewer Nimrod' described the Thanet Silverlight in 1948.
L. C. Cassell, proprietor of Thanet Cycles of Bristol, based his ideas for his newly registered frame design on a study of crashed aircraft parts during the war, according to this publication.
