It has been six years since Andrew Feather last failed to make the podium at the Nationals, and he has won three of the races in that time frame.

National Hill-Climb Champs

26 October | Matlock, Derbyshire

The Feather era

He has raced six CTT hill-climbs this year, and won four of them, with Andy Nicholas winning the other two. He also took time to beat Tadej Pogačar at the Pogi Challenge this month. He's the one to watch for a reason.

New women's podium?

In both 2023 and 2024, the women's podium was identical: Illi Gardner, Lizi Brooke, and Abi Plowman. This is set to change, as Plowman hasn't entered and Brooke hasn't contested a hill-climb so far this season. Meanwhile, Gardner only returned to the discipline this month; the three-time champion remains at the top, but there could be new challengers.

Third time lucky for Matlock

This will be the third time that Bank Road in Matlock hosts the hill-climb Nationals. The last time was 2016, when Adam Kenway and Lou Bates won. Bank Road is right in the middle of town, so it should be packed out with spectators. You can get to Matlock, the county town, easily by train from Derby.
