Olympic cricket is a winner, I'd bet my trousers on it

|June 02, 2025
If anyone had been watching at that moment, they may have thought we were proper cricketers.
So muttered our star spin bowler, having just watched one of his teammates take a catch behind the stumps to dismiss the top batsman.
And to be fair, if you were squinting, from some distance, the quick delivery, snick of the outside edge and diving catch to claim the wicket had all the hallmarks of a top flight cricket dismissal.
It is a sight often repeated on the international Test Match circuit.
What is not repeated, however, is the players emerging from shipping containers to take to the field of play!
