Flats plans for old glass factory set to be passed

An 18-storey block of flats could be built on a former industrial site under plans set to be agreed by the council.
An old glass factory on Sayner Lane in Hunslet would be demolished to make way for 164 flats if the scheme goes ahead.
Developer Countrylarge Ltd sought planning permission for the project, expected to be approved by Leeds City Council's city plans panel.
A planning report said: "The main benefit of the scheme is that 164 dwellings will be provided in a sustainable fringe city centre location, helping to regenerate a brownfield site."
