A healthcare support worker in Leeds has received a prestigious Chief Nursing Officer Award for her work with neurodiverse children and their families across Leeds.
Amy Dimery, a healthcare support worker at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH), rolled out innovative strategies such as the use of visual aids and distraction techniques to ease the anxiety surrounding blood tests.
Mum of two Amy has worked for LCH for over seven years. Colleagues say her presence has enhanced the trust between families and healthcare services, creating a bridge where children feel safe, understood and valued.
