Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer are based on his books, as is the movie Blood Work. Now we can add Ballard to the list. It’s set in the same universe as Bosch and sees Maggie Q reprise her role as Detective Renee Ballard; she popped up as the character in the last-ever episode of Bosch: Legacy. Ballard runs the LAPD's new but underfunded cold case department, and while investigating such crimes as an undiscovered serial killer and a murdered mystery man, she also learns of a dark conspiracy at the heart of the force. Titus Welliver reprises his role as Harry Bosch, who lends her team a hand.
