Going into last weekend, a three-game stretch against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool had the most daunting, unappealing look for a manager in the firing line. His side had to come out firing, and at City they did... eventually, after a halftime intervention from the manager and a switch to a 3-5-2 formation that Pep Guardiola's men struggled to match.
