Govt assures plywood industry facing problems in Yamunanagar

For the past few days, there were reports in newspapers and electronic media that the plywood industry is in trouble and is shifting to other states.
A plywood unit was established in Yamuna Nagar in the 1980s. Pradhan Jugal Kishore said that plywood is exported to other states including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Mumbai, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. He said that there are many problems due to plywood coming from outside, high prices of raw material, high GST, expensive electricity rates, high fixed charges, no tax relief from market committee and high prices of commercial fertilizers. Due to which the unit is constantly closing down. This is a matter of concern for the district and the state. Seeing this serious issue, Yamuna Nagar MLA Shri Ghanshyam Das Arora took the initiative to convey the problems to the Chief Minister.
