Cappy set to enjoy first Christmas with adoring new owner

Staffie-cross Captain, affectionately known as “Captain Cuddles” or “Cappy’, will celebrate his 12th birthday aswell as Christmas this year in his happy place - ina home where he is cherished and adored.

Captain came into Dogs Trust care in December 2021 after being rescued through the charity's Chance of a Lifetime scheme (COAL).

The scheme rescues dogs from council pounds in Northern Ireland, transferring them within the UK to one of the Dogs Trust's rehoming centres.

Despite being such a loving and affectionate lad, Captain only met one potential family in over three years at Dogs Trust Glasgow.

‘The Dogs Trust ‘Underdog’ which is the term given to dogs who spend more than six monthsin the charity's care, earned the nickname Captain Cuddles as he was renowned for giving kisses to his canine carers and enjoying snuggles on the sofa.

Captain also spent time in foster care to give him a break from kennel life and was always described as the “perfect house guest’.
