Gladiators fall just short in their trip to Oxford

PLYMOUTH Gladiators _ suffered another defeat on the road, as they lost 47-43 to the Oxford Cheetahs at Sandy Lane, in the Championship.

‘The Cheetahs raced into an early lead and, as the meeting went on, they defended it to take the points, despite Plymouth’s best efforts on the night. icolai Klindt carried on his scintillating form, as he grabbed yet another massive points haul with 16. ‘The Dane is really showing what he is capable of.

Oxford got off to a good start, with an early 5-1, courtesy of the formidable Sam Masters. Before this meeting, he had won every race he had against the Gladiators this season, but that streak was broken later in the evening.

Heat two saw Alfie Bowtell win in a shared 3-3. It was his only points until his last race, where he got a further one. He and the Plymouth faithful will be expecting more going forward, with him now being in reserve.
